It’s Time to SNAP Into Action, Snoqualmie Valley

Dear Snoqualmie Valley Community,

You’ve probably seen the recent news about the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and how the federal pause will impact families right here in our valley. Many neighbors are worried about what comes next, and we’re already feeling the ripple effects.

At Snoqualmie Valley Food Bank, we want our community to know: we will continue to serve everyone who comes to us. No one is ever turned away.

Our dedicated staff and volunteers are already finding creative ways to meet this growing need. We’re expanding partnerships, building a regional food distribution plan, and finding new ways to stretch every dollar and every can of food. But to keep our shelves stocked and our neighbors nourished, we need our community to SNAP into action.

How You Can Help Right Now:

1)  SHARE: Everyone is welcome — always.
Our doors are open to all. If you or someone you know needs food, please come see us. We’re here for you, no questions, no judgment.

2)  NETWORK: Strengthen our regional food network.
We’re coordinating with partners across the Snoqualmie Valley to make sure food gets where it’s needed most. Together, we’re building a more resilient, regional safety net, one that can weather this freeze and whatever comes next. If your business or organization would like to help, please let us know.

4)  DONATE: Food drives and donations
We’re teaming up with area grocery stores to make giving easy. Look for our donation bins or host your own food drive! Please talk with your local grocery store about hosting a food drive at their location.

5)  GIVE: Fuel Our Operational Fund

When shelves get low, your financial gifts let us buy food in bulk at wholesale prices—stretching every dollar further. Your support keeps shelves stocked, lights on, and neighbors nourished.

SNAP was first created during the Great Depression to connect farmers with families who were hungry. (history.com) That same spirit lives on here in the Snoqualmie Valley, where local farms continue to donate fresh produce and neighbors lift each other up every day. Their generosity, paired with the compassion of volunteers and donors, keeps healthy food flowing to every corner of our valley.

This is what community in action looks like: neighbors helping neighbors, volunteers giving their time, and local farms and businesses rallying behind a shared cause. Together, we can make sure every family in the Snoqualmie Valley has food on the table, today, tomorrow, and in the weeks ahead.

With gratitude,
Your Snoqualmie Valley Food Bank Team
