Our current space is no longer adequate. The Snoqualmie Valley Food Bank has been serving the communities of North Bend and Snoqualmie from the same facility for many years. During that time, the needs of our community have grown significantly—and now, the food bank must grow too, in order to keep pace.
We’ve outgrown our storage, shopping areas are cramped, and the facility offers little protection from the elements—making it uncomfortably cold in the winter and hot in the summer. There are no onsite restrooms and no private areas where clients can meet with service providers or share personal information confidentially. People often wait in long lines, exposed to the rain, just to access basic support. As more individuals and families turn to us, these limitations prevent us from serving them with the care and dignity they deserve.
The new property allows for expansion.

In keepingwith our historyof efficiency, the building committee is creating a design to address our needsas well as enable us to increaseour distribution while maintaining a safe and effective work place for staff and volunteers.
To bring this vision to life, we need support for critical improvements and equipment:
Building/Land purchase: $1.8 million
Site Improvements/Construction: $2.3 million
Equipment (racks, cooler/freezer, loading dock): $0.9 million
Campaign Goal: $5.0 million

No. Contributions to the food bank’s general operating fund and contributions to the capital campaign are separate. We need donations for both the campaign and for ongoing, daily operations.
Our new facility will have a great deal of efficiencies to off-set some of our increased expensesas well as our larger volume of food distribution will provide increasedrevenues. We have also increased, through the capital campaign, the number of supporters who now have a passionfor hunger relief.
